I'm glad to see that the Sanford Police chief is holding his ground and defending his department. I'm not sure that temporarily resigning will accomplish much. Police departments usually reflect the city they serve, and so saying the department is acting on a bias is absurd.
Why do they have to make this into a racist and civil rights issue? It's disgusting. They are blowing this incident out of purportion.
Seems to me this kid assaulted the watchman first based on the fact that the watchman had blood and bodily injury.
What parent wants to believe their kid was bad or into trouble. We see time and time again criminal kids parents try to justify their kids action by saying something like "he's really a good kid at heart. It's not his fault." Maybe this kid was clean maybe not.
Protestors, please put your signs down and go home, don't cause anymore trouble.
