The ECPA Amendments Act (S.1011) would protect your private information stored remotely or in the “cloud” (such as web-based email) from unreasonable search and seizure. Additionally, the Geolocational Privacy and Surveillance Act (S. 1212/H.R. 2168) requires law enforcement agencies to acquire a warrant to track the location of citizens through their cell phones or GPS devices.
